Marilyn Orta joined the Bulldog Family in 2023 and proudly serves as Assistant Principal at City of Hialeah Educational Academy (COHEA). She is a dedicated educational leader with a passion for instructional excellence, innovation, and student success. Mrs. Orta works collaboratively with teachers, students, and families to foster a positive school culture while supporting high-quality instruction, professional learning, and continuous school improvement.

Prior to serving as Assistant Principal, Mrs. Orta was an instructional technology coach and STEAM coordinator, where she led initiatives that integrated technology, creativity, and real-world problem-solving into classroom instruction. Her passion for educational innovation continues to shape her leadership as she supports teachers in implementing engaging, student-centered learning experiences that prepare students for success in college, careers, and beyond.

Mrs. Orta holds a Master of Science in Education and is currently pursuing a Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) in Instructional Technology and Distance Education, with an anticipated graduation in December 2027. Throughout her career, she has been recognized for her commitment to educational excellence, earning multiple competitive grants, including the VILS, ST Math, and Project Lead The Way (PLTW) grants, and being named Teacher of the Year in 2018.

Mrs. Orta believes that every student deserves the opportunity to thrive in a supportive, challenging, and innovative learning environment. She is honored to be part of the Bulldog Family and remains committed to empowering educators, inspiring students, and partnering with families to ensure every Bulldog is equipped to lead, learn, and succeed.
